Omega-3 and omega-6 fats sit on opposite ends of a seesaw. Omega-6 tends to tip the body toward inflammation and omega-3 tips it back the other way. Both are essential, so this is about balance rather than about one being the villain. The trouble is that most commercial dog food is loaded with omega-6 and carries very little omega-3, so that seesaw sits tilted the same way for most of a bulldog’s life. Dry skin, a dull coat, stiffness getting up and ears that flare more often than they should are all things that can show up downstream of it. This double strength chew puts more weight on the other end.
This is a keep-up product, not a rescue. Give it every day rather than only on bad days, and give it a good few weeks before you judge it. If your pet is ill, see your veterinarian, and while a supplement might complement treatment, that decision should be made with your veterinarian.
