It helps to think of it like damp in a house. The mold on the wall is not really the problem, the damp behind it is, and scrubbing the wall without drying the room only buys you a week. An antiseptic shampoo brings the numbers down and lifts away the greasy, crusting, flaking layer they have been feeding on, which gives the skin underneath a chance to settle.
