What is that?

Glaucoma is an increase of pressure within the eye usually due to eye fluids (aqueous humor) drainage problems, or secondary to another eye disease.

Symptoms

Severe pain and painful eye and must be attended to as an emergency. The pupil is usually dilated, and nonresponsive to light, The eye is bluish cloudy bulging, and red. With immediate treatment, Glaucoma leads to blindness.

What is that?

Bulldog and French Bulldog urinary stones (uroliths or calculi) could be found in the kidney, ureter, bladder, and/or urethra. They are different types of stones such as cystine, urate, calcium oxalate, and struvites.

Symptoms

Bulldog urinary stones can cause a partial or a full urinary blockage, and injuries to the urinary tract wall. It can manifest as bloody, smelly, cloudy, discolored urine. Incontinence, strain, frequent urination, or no urination. Distended abdomen and pain.

What is that?

What is that?

Bulldogs Urinary Tract Infection (UTI is a bacterial infection of the upper (kidney) or the lower tract. In female bulldogs, persistent UTI is often due to mismanaged vaginal fold moist dermatitis.

Symptoms

What is that?

Bulldog Cushing’s disease (hyperadrenocorticism) is an endocrine disease that causes excess secretion of the adrenal gland cortisone hormone. The common reasons are tumors, either the brain pituitary (common) or the adrenal (rare).

Symptoms

An excessive appetite leads to weight gain and excessive water intake leads to excessive urination. You might notice the classic “pot belly” appearance (see photo). Also, suppressed immune system that oven leads to UTI and calcium skin deposits (calcinosis cutis)

Prolapse Urethra

Prolapse Bleeding Urethra in Bulldogs

What is that?

Prolapsed Urethra in bulldogs and French bulldogs males of the exposed mucosal layer of the tip of the penis inverting outward. It's more common in intact unneutered males.

Symptoms

The prolapsed exposed, rosy, red urethral, “bulge” is a delicate vascular tissue that can easily bleed, sometimes in a dramatic, unstoppable, scary fashion.
